Echeon, Metal Sonic 1.0, and Amber reappeared on top of a seaside cliff, the evening tide splashing against its sides. With each wave, a little bit more eroded and the shore retreated a tiny bit more. In the sky, far to the west, the Death Egg was the size of the moon, entering the atmosphere. Plasma whipped at its damaged underside. "It's going to explode," Echeon commented, his Cyberform still active. "Pora and Kantos be with us." |

Amber plopped down on the ground and exhaled. She didn't remember holding her breath, but fresh air was welcome all the same. She looked up at the sky and the soon to be exploding That's-no-moon. "So, are we not quite out of the woods yet?" she asked. After a brief pause, she added, "Is everyday going to be like this, or is this a slow week?" |

A flash of light sparked above the Death Egg, followed by a spike of what could only be explained as black light. Echeon wished he could see what was happening; in truth, Xion had gone Super, and Seven had completely enveloped himself with Dark Chaos Energy, becoming Darkspine Seven. A truly epic battle was about to commence, but the Cyber was more concerned with what was going to happen to the planet. "If only we knew where it was going to land... There's gotta be a way to stop that thing!" He looked down at the Chaos Emerald in his hands. His Cyberform constantly absorbed energy, and he could see-as-in-feel the wisps spiraling into the orb that covered his chest-gem. "Maybe... just maybe..." |

Amber peered up at the strange special effects show. What she could see from there, anyway. The "black light" was something else. "I'm still kinda new in town, so I gotta ask... Is that not normal?" She got up as Echeon bemoaned the possible fate of the world the Death Egg would crash into. "I still got my pendulum, so I could try to divine were it would land, but it'd be easier with a map." She eyed Echeon as he eyed the Emerald. "You're not planning on putting it back are you? Heh. If you're thinking of blasting it, I think I can point out a good place to aim. I got a good look at the thing's diagram in that transport." |

He shook his head. "No.... not quite. I don't suppose you remember, but this happened about... six years back. Almost the same thing, except it was an old space colony, the ARK. They managed to warp that to safety... but I'm not sure how much energy I would require. I'm not sure if one Chaos Emerald would be enough." He stared at the light as the battle really came to a head. "Xion, though. He had more. And Zeel had one. Zeel! and Truff! and Xion! I completely forgot about them, they might be aboard still!" |

After concentrating, Echeon realized that his see-through-feeling of energy had a definite range. "No. They're too far. I could probably warp there, but I doubt I'd be able to find them. They might have found a way off... I hope they found a way off. I'm going to see what that light is. Stay here..." And with a flash, he was gone. Metal Sonic's digital eyes could see quite clearly what was going one. He saw the Shadow Emerald form, cringing as the blood eye of Dark Chaos opened to the world after centuries of imprisonment. Even Chaos, the immortal and eternal deity, shivered as the demon awoke, shadowy tendrils filled the void. "No... it can't be." |

"So there... wait, what?" Amber said, but Echeon had already left. She looked over at Metal Sonic 1.0, but was talking more or less to herself now. "We were just there, so if they're too far then they already got away. Maybe." She, too, felt a feeling of dread come over her, but it felt disproportionate to what she should be feeling. Even taking into account that she might be more attached to them than she realized... Metal Sonic 1.0 seemed to have the same feeling too. She tried to see what he was looking at, but it was too far and too dark... Way too dark. "What's going on? What's happening?" |

The Death Egg suddenly disappeared, leaving nothing but a few plasma trails that quickly vanished. Metal Sonic 1.0 was speechless, unable to reply to Amber. Due to Avernale's absence, however, the thread halted, most likely to be explained in some sort of summary posts of the next two weeks, leading up to August after the timeskip. |
