Unfortunately, a blow from Shadow that impacts a robot designed to triumph over Knuckles is not all the successful... nor does it land properly, Metal Knuckles managing to deflect it with one hand as he continued his spin, aiming with a roundhouse kick at about waist level... given Shadow's crouch, that's at head level. "You believe that I have not taken into your strength and speed? It is well documented, and what few Shadow Androids survived YOU have served as fodder for my training. The only advantage you have over them is being the original." |

Shadow was a little pissed that his attack didn't land properly and saw the roundhouse kick coming towards him, using his speed to jump up, out of the way of the kick. It however impacted on his ankle, however due to Shadow's moving at high speed, the kick wasn't as effective as it would be stationary. "Really... Can the androids do this?!" Shadow said, flipping around the robot, his hands glowing with Chaos Energy as he landed behind it, turning to face it. "CHAOS SPEAR!" Shadow roared as he thrusted his hand towards it, releasing the energy towards the robot. |

Espio found a spot in the tower where he could rest. It was significantly taller than he had thought it would be but he had made a little progress. The constant barrage of the shifting tower was a major hinderance. Looking out of a window that opened he saw Shadow still in the distance with Metal Knuckles. "Crap...can't just..." The chameleon three knives out of the air and sent them careening at the duo in the distance. He was hoping to hit the Metal, but if he happened to hit the hedgehog, oh well. Espio moved just in time to keep his head as a floor slammed into the wall above him and forced him to backtrack before he could continue upward again. |

The Chaos Spear hit, hurling Metal into the 'roof' of the tower, hard. But the robot bounced with it, coming up on his feet. "Goodbye." he said as he brought both fists up over his head and slammed them down hard, crouching simultaneously to increase the power. The blow wasn't aimed at the hedgehog, but rather at the top of the 'tower' itself: the result was messy, to say the least. The entire roof, already structurally damaged from Metal Knux's entrance, was shattered completely, as was a significant portion of the upper tower. The pieces were too small to have a running aerial battle, and as Knux was using his thrusters to stay 'on level' he was already trying to detect the master emerald shard when the first knife thwacked into his head. "What the..." Metal Knuckles managed as he turned, slapping the second away and catching the third. His robotic eyes swept visually, then thermally. The reptillian Espio was almost invisible on both. Almost. Espio was colder than the air: he wasn't a shade of red, warmth. He was the absence thereof. He shpwed up darker than everything else, and it had taken Metal Knuckles a moment to realize it. He hurled the knife back and then FLEW after the chameleon. ((Do take into account science, please. There's a reason that sea bound reptiles are rare. Either the water here is VERY warm (and as far as I remember, it's supposed to be runoff of mountain snow, so it should be damn cold) or espio's not as much of a chameleon as he says he is.)) |

Espio was vaulting his way up the tower much swifter than before now when it occured. It hit him as a surprise. The knife from before came flying through an open window and crashed into the metal ring around his left ankle, twisting him midair and leaving him vulnerable to the wall that was coming. He was thrown back by the impact and color returned to him once again. The purple chameleon sat there stunned for a moment before shaking it off. "How the hell did..." He turned and saw the the once preoccupied metallic version of his old friend was now on blazing a trail towards him. "Not good!" Espio got up as quickly as he could, pulling the knife out of the ankle strap it had embedded itself in and tossing it to the ground. He wasn't going to have enough time to get up this tower before the metal got to him so he did what any shinobi would have been taught to do. He covered his tracks. A thin, almost invisible piece of wire trailed behind him as he weaved his way up the tower. Every wall he touched was tied and triggered as he proceeded. Tripping a wire would launch a series of blades that would either deter his chasers or at the very least let him know how close to him they were. |

Metal Knuckles is much smarter than he is given credit for. Rather than take the obvious path, and try to struggle up past what were clearly trip wires, given the condensation. Rather than try and deal with it, he leaped up, getting as much verticle height as he could, using his thrusters to gain height. At the same time, he activated his Chaos Energy Detectors, which had been calibrated toward the Master Emerald's signature, and had it try and ignore the energy let off by the dark furred hybrid he'd recently dropped into the depths of the underwater labyrinth. |

Espio looked back and saw that, instead of navigating the tower and passing tripwires, the metal was simply moving upward. That made it much harder for it to trigger a wire and made its journey significantly quicker than Espio's. Silently he cursed to himself as he tried to think of something to do, never stopping in his ascension. He paused only momentarily as he remembered the key item in his arsenal, the mega shuriken. He only had two on him ever because they were far too massive and usually it was used to take out groups of enemies simultaneously but in this case, it could probably be used to knock the tin can out of the race. Espio pressed himself into a corner that seemed to be stable and waited. The massive chunk of metal was gripped tightly in his hands as he slowed his breathing down in an attempt to cease to exist. The rumble of Metal Knuckles' jets was approaching fast and just as it came into view he took action. With all his strength Espio swung the Mega Shuriken as hard as he could with the clear goal of either carving through the mechanized menace or, at the very least, knocking his screws loose. |

Metal Knuckles sees the attack coming. For a ninja, Espio is surprisingly straightforward... and ridiculously easy to counter. He can't help but wonder if Espio's skills are actually decent for a ninja. Metal knuckle's fists glowed as he... did a barrel roll of sorts, becoming a whirling helix of energy and fists, casually deflecting the much larger shuriken as he broke out of the spiraling upper cut, and continued upward. ((Sorry, try again.)) |

It seemed Espio had been successful in his attack...until the brute force of metal against metal just ricocheted and the Knuckles knock-off kept rising without the slightest bit of determent. Furthermore, it seemed the impact had done nothing but leave a rather large dent in Espios weapon. He sighed in defeat and let the item fall back down the tower. "Looks like I'm taking the long way." He looked around and waited for a moment until a series of walls lined up just right and bolted. Bouncing from one surface to the other moving upward as quickly as he could. He was on the emulated echinda's tailpipes and once he got a good opportunity, he'd take the prize for himself. Edited by Espio, Nov 21 2009, 10:10 AM.

The Master Emerald glinted near the base of another tower, the water level rising and pushing it deeper inside. This tower was different, however, in that it ran into the main wall instead of being a free structure. Deep inside the wall, a mighty, booming roar sends excess ripples throughout the aquatic environment below the wrestling fighters. |
