Mecha Sonic flew into Sandopolis Zone, his companion Neek on his back. "Alright, we're here.... now where?" He asked. This place did hell on his sensors, all the sand fucked it up. He hated going here. |

CHAOS ENERGY DECTECTED!! Isolating. ... ... ... Isolating. ... ... ... Isolated. Chaos energy detected in... Sensor error. Recalibrating. ... ... ... CRISIS ENERGY DETECTED!! Insulating. ... ... ... Insulated. Chrysanthemum bake sale hydrogenate. Be objective. Obtain peace of mind. Your lucky numbers are 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 Stupid sand is messing with everything. However, there does appear to be something nearby. Glancing down, you see a purple glint shining in the sand below. Some kind of stone. It may or may not be a Chaos Emerald, but it's definitely producing a strong signature. |

Mecha decides to pick this object up before anything else, and decides to store it before trying anything with it. He had best get out of Sandopolis, or at least into a tomb before his entire system went haywire. But first Neek had to tell him where to go. |

Neek felt nothing from the stone, but he felt the hunger within him rise. In his mind's eye--perhaps through his real eyes, too, his massive pupils more acute than a bald eagle in its prime--he saw a white bat tramping across he desert, too tired and too sand-bathed to fly. Underneath the brown cloth that wrapped around her body--Neek could not find a name for it--she wore tight, purple leather, as she usually did. Her sleeveless top had been zipped part of the way down to abate the heat, futile though it was. In her pouch he saw that glowing energy matrix, the purple Chaos Emerald. There was something else, as well, something less prominent: a strange, green glow; it seemed to partially neutralize the Chaos Emerald's glow. "De' ahea'!" he yelled, pointing forward. Dead ahead, indeed: nearly a mile and a half directly in front of them, Rouge dropped into one of the ruins to escape the desert heat, down a mysterious whole that still contained residue of Chaos Energy from the Shard that Mecha had found nearly a day before. However, she stopped in the first open floor of the partially-collapsed structure, planning to sleep in the darkness until the sun set. |

Mecha Sonic burst forward, in the direction Neek had pointed. "So be it!" Upon approaching the tomb, Mecha smiled and dashed in, happy that his sensors could work again in the tomb, but upon noticing Rouge, that's when he frowned. Crap, not only was it a squishy, but it was one that he doubted would give up anything he wanted without a price. He didn't say anything as he shook parts of his body that contained sand, letting the sand come out, so everything worked properly. "I see I'm not the only one seeking shelter..." He said, not saying anything bout the Chaos Emerald search. |

A rather hefty blue robot tromped into Sandopolis, scanning the area. The robot certainly seemed to resemble one of Eggman, although seemed to be based on some other organic life form. *Rookie, this is your first mission. You are to scout out the area in search of information. You are not to do anything else, since we have yet to evaluate your combative capabilities. He would be very upset if you were to do anything else.* "*HURR HURR* Understood." The robot laughed for unknown reasons before turning on his sensors. SCANNING... PROCESS COMPLETE! CHAOS ENERGY DETECTED IN THIS AREA... CHAOS ENERGY AT 18,000% CHAOS EMERALDS IN THIS AREA: 1,800 LOGIC ERROR... LOGIC ERROR... LOGIC ERROR... SPECULATION: THE SAND IS REFRACTING CHAOS ENERGY OBJECTIVE: ... "*HURR...* Computer, objective now." The robot demanded OBJECTIVE: DESTROY ALL THE SAND! OBJECTIVE EFFICIENCY: 0.9000% NEW OBJECTIVE: SEARCH MANUALLY FOR CHAOS EMERALDS! INSTRUCTIONS: ONLY SCOUT FOR INFORMATION! "*HURR HURR* Computer, over ride Instructions Protocol..." The robot mumbled to his computer as he watched another robot speed across the horizon towards a tomb. Smiling, the robot began slowly stamping towards the tomb himself. Rouge gasped as she turned to see Mecha's form, a silhouette from the glare of the sun entering behind him. Neek scurried off of Mecha's back, and his surprisingly heavy form stamped across the sand as he glomped Rouge, searching and grabbing the Chaos Emerald from her person. He threw it up in the air and caught it with his tail, its metal-tipped length wrapping around it. "Mi'e!" he yelled, running off into the tomb. As he disappeared in the dark--though it was bright as daylight to himself--he plummeted off a steep edge and fell, deep, down, into some forgotten chamber, screaming as he did. "Oooooowwww...." he crowed from below. Rouge dusted herself off. "What the hell were you thinking?" she said, pointing at Mecha, "scaring me like that!" She then noticed that Mecha was, well, Mecha. "Metal Sonic?!" she exclaimed, then caught his shape and basic differences, and the fact that the metal creation had not killed her yet. "No... Not Metal. Someone else. Anyway, we better help that little... thing out. He stole my emerald!" she exclaimed, turning in the deep sand without a further word. |

Mecha laughed. "Not exactly the way I was going to get that emerald from you... but.... eh." With his superior speed, he burst after Neek, and once he had gotten Neek to join him, he'd tell him to hold on tight as Mecha burst through the tomb's roof to escape as fast as they can. |

The tomb was quiet for several moments before the fat blue robot smashed through the wall. Walking in, he turned his head, seeing that the door was only about a meter away from him. Shrugging he stomped over to Rouge. Looming above her, he looked down on her. "*HURR HURR* Scanners show that you have... Residual... Chaos... Energy. COMPUTER!" CHAOS ENERGY DETECTED! CHAOS ENERGY AT 200%! CHAOS EMERALDS IN THE AREA: 2 OBJECTIVE: PROCEED THROUGH TOMB AND PROCURE THE CHAOS EMERALDS INSTRUCTIONS: ONLY GATHER- "Stupid meat creature. Computer, over-ride instructions." He growled, stomping past Rouge, following Mecha into the depths of the tomb. ((This is Metal Stock in case you haven't guessed.)) |

Rouge tore after the newcomer, confused but focusing on her Emerald. She would get it back by all means necessary. Down below, however, Neek sat on his rear, tears flowing from their ducts, though not a single scratch was visible on his scaled, chimeric body. The Chaos Emerald had flown somewhere deeper into the chamber, and he could feel its strength fading as it traveled deeper and deeper into the caverns. Rouge floated down and landed lightly next to Mecha at the bottom of a 300-foot vertical shift down which Neek had fallen. "I-I-I-" Neek stuttered, "I hurted my face!" He continued to bawl. |
