Metal Knuckles glided in near the known Entrance to the Hidden Palace, stopping on one of the trees. Nux would simply need to get to the heart of the area. And thus, Nux fell to the ground, his considerable weight impacting with hardly any noise. Nux hadn't been built for stealth. Far from it. But he had learned, over time, that where the Metal Sonic units were built for sheer speed, they often emulated their organic counterpart, being mostly direct. Nux could take his own organic counter part in a fight, of that he was sure. But if all he could do was serve as a foe for one particular foe, what use was he? And thus he had learned to infiltrate, to use the Last Echidna's abilities for a much less direct approach than the one used by the aforementioned Echidna. This would be interesting. The Palace's once sacred home had grown over with vine growth at its beginning, but farther in its crystalline walls sparkled as they ever had. The faint glow of the Master Emerald cast from not too far in, and its guardian was nowhere to be found, nor heard. The walls bore the forebearers of the Emeralds, the might nation of the Echidnas, destroyed by Chaos so long ago. Truly, the entire Palace appeared empty, save for the scant sunlight that shifted through the structural cracks brought on by age. |

Whereas some would stop to admire architecture, Nux moved with purpose, his goal the only thing on his mind. That and the inevitable face off with his organic counter part. That was something he was looking forward to, even as he walked in almost total silence, evading the more obvious booby traps he saw with scorn. He would have stuck to the walls, but silence was worth more than speed. Any moment now, and one of the two guardians would show. |

Although the coming of some sort of guardian seemed inevitable, none came; in fact, the place was pretty much deserted, empty and void of any life. Had Knuckles abandoned his post? With his meddling with the rest of the world in recent years, the answer was most likely yes. Metanux soon came upon the shrine, the Super Emeralds glowing with what little Chaos Energy remained within them. However, the sheer power of the Master Emerald overloaded his sensors, at first, though they quickly returned to their normal, static-free state. |

Nux quickly looked around, confirming the lack of guardians. Chaos AND Knuckles absent? Well, Nux wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Quickly he lept from the ground to stand beside the Master Emerald, avoiding the Super Emeralds. Gods only knew what Eggman had used as his power source. It just wouldn't do to have his power, if it was chaos energy based, absorbed by the Super Emeralds. Perhaps I can return for them... Metal Knuckles thought as he reached out to pluck the master emerald from it's resting place. With it in hand he would have to leave quickly. |

The moment his hand touched the Master Emerald, the moment it lifted from the ground, Nux's world became one of pain and damaged parts as a powerful fist sent him flying across the empty caverns below. Knuckles glided quickly down, drill-diving towards Metanux, spit flying from his strained face. "Don't you dare touch my emerald!" |

"It is about time." Metal Knuckles said in an almost perfect emulation of Knuckles, Lightning fast calculations taking place. With a single step at the last possible second, Metal Knuckles side stepped the drill drive, only mildly impressed by the damage to the stonework. He came in with a quick trio of jabs, expecting them to be blocked quickly and easil. It was the follow up sweep kick that he didn't expect to be expected and evaded. |

Knuckles, however, went right through the stone and into the ground, disappearing from Metanux's most likely outdated arrays. He came up right underneath the metal doppelganger, continuing his drill dive upwards before stopping and floating down onto the lip of the cliff that plummeted downward behind the Shrine. "Come on, impostor! You can not take my heritage!" he yelled. The Master Emerald had found its way back onto its resting spot after Metal Knuckles had dropped it, a relatively safe distance from the fight. |

((Knuckles can't dig Through ROCK. @_@)) Metal Knuckles was taken by surprise, but managed to get away with only one hit, to the chin. With a growl he stepped forward, pounding his fists together. "What heritage? Do you not find it odd that you have never seen another of your kind? But come... If you desire battle, we shall have it, organic." |

With a simple "Heh" Knuckles flew at Metanux, his LED-covered gloves blurring as he increased in speed. Mid-flight he went into a spin, going faster and faster as he flew past Metanux... to turn and punch at Metal Knuckles, going for a face-shot. |
